This is the heart of Montmartre! The area used to be an independent village called 'Village d'Orsel' and kept this name until 1838, at which, it was incorporated into Montmartre. You can still see and sense the Bohemian life of the neighbourhood. There is the Theatre d'Atelier directly across the street in Place Charles Dullin- the lovely park that you see from the windows in the salon.
The entrance to the apartment is conveniently placed between two cafés to add to the charm. You'll find an abundance of restaurants within a stone's throw. Some highly reputed ones are just around the corner on rue des Trois Freres. There are also funky boutiques everywhere you look. If you love design and fabric, you are right at the marche St. Pierre- the best fabric district in Paris.
