Gorrans Down Cottage is a beautiful thatched cottage with lots of charm. It is a 12th Century Grade 2 listed building and was probably two cottages at some time. It has a secluded rear garden with views across the fields and a small pond and sitting out area. The front garden is edged with 'devon banks.'
Inside, this cottage has been tastefully renovated and is a very 'cosy' cottage ideal to escape to. On entering the cottage from the garden there is a galley kitchen leading to a breakfast room, single bedroom, utility room and main lounge. With inglenook fireplace, TV/DVD and Freeview All rooms have LOW doorways. Deep windowsills help to give the cottage that 'escape from it all' feeling. From here you enter the second lounge or dining room and on to the downstairs bathroom and the stairs to the further bedrooms, landing and WC.
From Gorrans Down Cottage you are only a 10 minute drive from Hartland Point, the Quay and Hartland Abbey with its beautiful gardens. There are many gardens to visit in the area including RHS Rosemoor. The beaches are safe and level so are good for surfing. A must to visit is Clovelly (the cobbled village), The Milky Way, (great for the kids) and of course, The Big Sheep, (where you can learn all you ever needed to know about sheep.) Don't forget to drive over the border and you're into Cornwall with its magical history centred around Tintagel, the supposed home of 'Camelot' and King Arthur.
